Not in a science class - except token mention.

good question! i think it depends on individual interpretation.
my misseducation was conservative and catholic- and look at me now!

i believe both theories should be taught.
then again, religion should be kept away from public education.

Faara, I totally agree with you. Teach evolution, intelligent design and maybe creationism.

I believe in some sort of intelligent design. I think evolution is a manisfestaion of intelligent design. If there was truly a "big Bang," then there has to be an unimaginble point where, before time existed, absolute nothing burst into something, creation. (Yup, I know about Planck time, for those that know science, and that before that, time did not exist. Planck time is ~the time it takes light to travel the thickness of a sheet of paper. Before that time, after "big bang" zero, time did not exist.)

Really, either we project our artificial concepts of intelligence, or we discover an intelligence that is behind all.

I'm a true believer of a designer, me believes all this around me, did not come out of random chance.

Most equations that I use to describe the macrouniverse, gravity, electrical charges, light, magnetism and even gravity, in fact, all forces that we know of, use the same basic quadradic equations.

To much symmetry, I kinda call it God's graffitti. Okay, you other guys that know more than I out there, I said the MACROuniverse, I know, classical physics fails to describe quantum entities.

Yet rationality, fails to comprehend the dual nature of particulate or wave function matter. Yup, I'm refering to the classic double slit experiment. Google it and get your minds blown.

Maybe fundamental quantizied particles, such as photons or electrons do posess consciousness. Or maybe our expectations on the behavior of these particles effect their manifested observations.

Either way, the implications are startling and sobering.

Sleep tight, and barkalot, if you are out there, I took pictures of my backyard and will post them tomorrow. Only snapped a shot of two iguanas, I think it was too late in the afternoon to photograph the multitudes of the little beasties. Tomorrow before work, I'll attempt to photograph more stuff.

Will post those pictures and explain tomorrow.

If it's one certain religious group behind it, I would say no. Because they wouldn't allow the sort of discussion we're having here. To me it's just letting them get their foot in the door to force their fundamentalist beliefs on everyone.

At U.H. Manoa, every evolution theory was taught. We had to know the evolution of each theory *grins*
